Chongqing

Chongqing looks like someone gave a city planner too much terrain and not enough rules. Monorails run through apartment buildings, bridges stack six high, and the entire city cascades down a peninsula where the Yangtze and Jialing rivers meet. It's disorienting in the best way — you'll enter a building on what feels like the ground floor, take an elevator up 10 floors, and step out onto another street. The hot pot here is the real deal, not the sanitized version.
